Thetis AI is a deep-tech startup building intelligent systems for route optimization in commercial maritime shipping.
We help fleet operators reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, minimize transit time, and navigate complex sea conditions by leveraging advanced machine learning and real-time maritime data.
Our platform is built to support large-scale decision-making and improve operational efficiency across the global shipping industry.

We’re looking for a Full Stack Engineer to help us build and scale the software systems that connect AI-powered optimization engines with vessel operations and shore-based users.

This role includes building:

  • Cloud-based APIs and dashboards for fleet operators
  • Edge-based services running on Greengrass-enabled devices onboard ships
  • Real-time synchronization between vessels and HQ via AWS IoT infrastructure

You’ll work closely with AI researchers, devops, and maritime experts to bring our product to life across web, cloud, and edge environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain NestJS (Node.js) and Python microservices running on the cloud and edge
  • Build interactive React-based UIs and dashboards for fleet and vessel operations
  • Implement AWS Lambdas, APIs, and message routing using AWS IoT Core, and other AWS services
  • Build and manage Dockerized edge applications deployed via AWS Greengrass
  • Integrate backend services with AI models for route recommendations
  • Write unit/integration tests and participate in CI/CD processes
  • Debug and support software running both in cloud and on remote vessel hardware

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a full stack or backend-focused engineer
  • Proficient in Node.js and NestJS, with strong understanding of backend architecture
  • Experience building SPAs using React (or similar JS frameworks)
  • Familiarity with Docker, Linux environments, and RESTful APIs
  • Experience working with cloud infrastructure — ideally AWS
  • Understanding of networking basics and edge-to-cloud communication
  • Strong coding practices, version control (Git), and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with AWS IoT Core, Greengrass, and Lambda – Preferred
  • Knowledge of real-time data flow, MQTT, or SQS/SNS messaging – Preferred
  • Experience building apps that run on remote or embedded Linux devices (e.g., Jetson, Pi) – Preferred
  • Familiarity with time-series data, sensor data processing, or fleet management UIs – Preferred
  • Exposure to maritime data (AIS, GNSS) is a plus – Preferred
