The Turbomachinery and Heat Transfer Laboratory at the Technion is seeking a highly motivated Electronics Engineer to support advanced experimental research, development, and testing activities.
The role combines hands-on electronics work with system-level integration, control, and laboratory experimentation in a multidisciplinary aerospace research environment.
Job Description:
- Design, assemble, integrate, and test electronic circuits and subsystems for experimental laboratory rigs
- Programming, tuning, and validation of control systems (PID and related controllers)
- Design and integration of control and measurement systems for high-speed motor-generator units, turbomachinery test stands, and UAV-related systems
- Wiring, soldering, and assembly of complex electronic and electromechanical systems
- Operation and troubleshooting of laboratory measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators, multimeters, DAQ systems, network analyzers)
- Performing electronic diagnostics, calibration, and repair of laboratory equipment
- Development and execution of test procedures and ation of experimental results
- Support day-to-day laboratory activities, including hands-on mechanical work when required
Requirements:
- B.Sc. in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (or equivalent)
- Strong hands-on experience in electronics assembly, wiring, soldering, and testing
- Experience with control systems and laboratory measurement equipment
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and electronic circuit diagrams
- Organized, safety-minded, able to work clearly, and collaborate in a research lab environment
- Technical English proficiency
- Experience with LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python, or similar programing tools – advantage
- Experience in circuit design and simulation (e.g., PSPICE, Multisim) – advantage
- Experience with aviation systems (drones, jet engines etc.) – advantage
- Experience with motor drives/inverters, sensor integration, and DAQ/control of high-speed rotating systems – advantage.
