We are a start-up with significant scale up funding (>9 figures – GBP), and product validation by industry-leading organizations.
As the Senior Software Engineer, you will work closely with the co-founders to help shape the technical vision.
This is a hands-on role that requires deep technical expertise, entrepreneurial drive, and the ability to create a scalable solution, from prototype to production.
You’ll have the opportunity to build the product from the early stages, solving real customer problems, and playing a key role in the company’s journey towards achieving its business milestones.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Partner with the co-founders to prototype, iterate, and deliver a product that meets market needs
- Design and build scalable, secure, and high-performing backend systems
- Drive technology decisions for ahead of launch and beyond
- Collaborate with the commercial function to ensure the technology roadmap aligns with business goals
- Take ownership of the full development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment and post-launch iteration
- Establish best practices in coding, architecture, and development processes
- Lead on future technology hires as the team grows
Requirements:
- Passionate individual that’s hardworking and dedicated, with an entrepreneurial/ownership mindset, strong communication skills and a team player
- Fluency in English
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on professional experience in backend development
- Strong experience coding with Python. Additional modern programming languages are a bonus (e.g., Node.js, Java, Ruby, Go, C++, C#, Rust)
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and building scalable infrastructure
- Solid understanding of security best practices and compliance standards (e.g. SOC 2)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment with a focus on problem-solving
- Experience in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and agile methodologies
